Goodnight

The clouds have cried on us
Waking a good evening weather
Now the heat bedeviling our days lay rust
Our bed will smile to embrace us tonight
Our pillows will sooth our path to dreamland
Where our Utopia lay in wait.

Fly on wings of beautiful sleep
Let your blanket rock you like a baby in a cradle
Let the clock ship the night to the morning side of the sea
So you may wake with a yawn into the bliss of dawn

Let angels captain the ship
So shore will be a surety
That your dreams may be tinged with grace
Steered away from the course of cruel nightmares.
Sleep like a toddler
Sleep like a peer with angels
Sleep sweet.
