Be gone for a day, Be gone forever, The road home never forgets. She is sometimes beautiful, and sometimes ugly And sometimes she is both Depending on the memories she holds She changes her shade like a chameleon She is fair with her scores In both our wins and losses Like the sun shines on all irrespective Turn in her direction The nostalgia will pour in Like the intoxication of a cheap strong rum The road back home Is the only road that leads us back to our thoughts
There we sat Our hearts racing at the speed of light Then came the doctors in a file Only this time not wearing white Though the wait was short But given the time, it didn’t seem quite There was an incision Then came the shrill cry There laid the exhausted mother Then there was a lovely child Right there awesome God showed his might It has been prayers, long wait and hope It all just grew wings and now it is a-fly
Looks lie too, this I've found true Scary clouds gather round her look Her ghostly gown shone, her face grim Grim and stiff, needing a smile grease. The clouds grew the closer she drew Her eyes stooped, beheld me still blue Flicked her needle, I saw smile brew Like a hornet ready to sting Looks lie too. The sun's gone rounds, still, nothing new My nurse's frown had my heart to chew There seemed a blue moon about this She smiled handing my discharge bill Her face wore this glow, she turned new Looks lie too
